Hello my beautiful desi girls,
Welcome to the first official review by Glam Desi.
Today, I’m going to review a cosmetics product of a very trending segment right now- Korean beauty or K-beauty. Innisfree is one of the most recognizable Korean beauty brands in India right now, and it launched its first store in India in late 2013.But this “K-Beauty” trend only arrived in India quite recently, fueled by social media, especially Instagram. I was actually convinced of its role in the Indian market only when my neighbourhood Health & Glow unveiled a separate shelf dedicated to K-beauty.
Innisfree is a green and clean eco-friendly and organic brand which offers a lot of exciting products like its Jeju volcanic pore mask for blackhead removal, green tea seed serum for skin, orchid gel skin cream,Real Squeeze sheet face masks, scented hand creams and of course its Real Fit lipstick range, which comes in matte, liquid and cream variants.
Without further ado, let us dive into the review.
As you can see,it comes in an attractive white colour paper packaging, the paper has thick, cardboard feel and it is sustainably sourced and printed with soy ink.The lipstick itself has a white plastic case, with some of the colour visible below, through a transparent layer at the bottom. That part is only for show,to open the lippie, pull up the white plastic lid at the top.
The inner case has a metallic colour, as seen above. Though there’s a label with English writing, most of the text on the packaging is in Korean script. Now, on to the swatches.
I have a medium-olive complexion and on my hand it looks like a sparkly purple-mauve.
However, on application, it is a is cool purplish pink with a hint of shimmer, which will suit both light and dark skin tones. Unlike some of the pale pinkish nudes and corals in this range, this shade won’t wash out darker-toned beauties.
Now, coming to pigmentation.Like most matte lipsticks(as compared to liquid ones), this won’t survive a full meal, but it least remains as lip-balmesque tint.Otherwise, it stays put for for upto 4-5 hours, after which a touch-up is required.
Texture-wise, it is quite creamy and moisturizing for a matte product.
Priced at ₹900 for 3.3 grams net weight of product(though I got it at a promotional price of ₹810 only), it is quite an investment, though still cheaper than a Mac! But as this made of natural ingredients and free of harmful chemicals like parabens, it is quite worth it for sensitive-skinned girls like me.Also if you are splurging to pamper yourself, you might as well choose a environmentally-conscious brand. 🙂
