Hello my dear readers,
Sorry for the long wait for a new post from GlamDesi blog. Today I am going to another product of Innisfree- the brand whose lipstick I had reviewed earlier. This I’m posting my take on the popular sheet masks by this brand.
What Innisfree’s site says about this product, in this case the cucumber variant:
What it is
Replenish your skin’s moisture with the My real squeeze mask!
1. My real squeeze mask – cucumber
Cucumber contains effective ingredients that make your skin clear and vital with natural moisture.
2. Jeju green complex
The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.
3. Triple-layered sheet
This triple-layer sheet has a long-lasting moisturizing effect so that the essence can gradually be absorbed into the skin.
How to use
1. After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture.
2. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas.
3. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your ski
Bonus tip: Feel free to squeeze all the essence/serum from the mask and gently rub it onto your own in a circular motion. This serum is the magic of this sheet mask and contains sticky but moisturizing goodness.
I tried out 5 different variants in this range – Cucumber,Aloe Vera, Rose, Pomegranate and Manuka Honey. The price is quite reasonable at
₹100 per mask, although the downside is that these masks are meant for one-time use only.
According to the store staff, there are are 3 types of My Real Squeeze Masks, according to texture- Water-based(e.g. Rose), Cream-type(e.g. Shea butter) and Essence-based(the most common type-Cucmber, Pomegranate, etc).
Cream-type masks are suitable for dry skin, water-type masks are for oily skin and essence-type masks are suitable for combination skin/ all skin types. I have combination skin with an oily nose and forehead but dry skin round the corners of my mouth(a real pain!).
I would definitely rate Cucumber as the best in this range. It has a natural fragrance of real cucumber juice and provided gentle moisture all over my face, even the dry areas. The moisturizing effect lasted for at least a day or two.
Aloe Vera comes second in the range because it has a slight alcoholic scent and caused a little burning sensation to my sensitive skin.
The Rose and Pomegranate were rather meh for me. I couldn’t feel any lasting effect and the fragrance wasn’t all that appealing.
The Manuka Honey was far too creamy for me and it only added greasiness to the tiny pimples on my forehead.
Here is how the packaging for these masks look:
How the sheet mask looks when unsealed and on application:
The moisturizing serum in which these masks are soaked is the best thing about them. Here, I squeezed some of the serum in my hand to show you:
Would I buy this again?
I would definitely repurchase the cucumber mask sometime in the near future as these sheet masks are very quick to use – only 10 to 15 minutes as compared to the minimum of twenty minutes required for using traditional face packs.
Also, the mask definitely lives upto its promise by giving instant hydration to your thirsty skin!
